            Nalgonda District is very poor literacy rate. The rate is often more in certain pockets where there are schedule tribes and castes more in population. Education in these areas probably had slipped from the priority due to various ranging from poverty to inaccessibility.

            Elohim gives priority to education for women. For the last 2 years Elohim was conducting various programmes on awareness aiming at increase in literacy rate. Elohim has 35 literacy centers oragnised in 35 villages at various Trible Hamlets of Nalgonda Dist. In these centres we are also providing Education material like Slates, Pencils, Books, etc.,

      We have gained 12 years of professional experience with the development of rural communities, focusing on women and children. We believe that for sustainable social development, education and health are the two important issues need to be strengthening in rural and tribal areas. People are poor because of lack of productive assests, lack of dependable occupations, Uncertainty of livelihoods, inaccessible and unaffordable institutional services and lack information on available welfare and development programs are the major reasons. In such a situation social, economic and environmental risks are pushing the rural and tribal communities in to the edge of vulunerablity.                                        Read More...
